Elephant Monitors Assam (EMA) is a registered grassroots-based organization formed as an alliance of reputed elephant rescuers, activists, and conservationists of Assam. We intend to safeguard our wild elephants and mitigate the rising human-elephant conflict across Assam's critical wildlife corridors.

Founded by researchers, experts from the lineage of renowned freedom fighter & elephant expert Tarun Ram Phookun, and veteran field rescuers, our team works around the clock to protect both human communities and wild elephant herds.

The Rescue & Medical Campaign for Wild Elephant 'Durga'

EMA has been actively working on the critical case of Durga, an ailing wild female Asian Elephant in Golaghat District struggling in Assam forests with a 20 kg dead radio collar. Our team mobilized immediate ground tracking, petitioned key authorities, and secured high-level governmental intervention.
